Description générale Zeelander is no ordinary yacht - simplified in concept, she is probably the most driver-orientated vehicle on the water; easy to manoeuvre, easy to understand with familiar controls that allow any car driver to grasp the joystick and dock the Zeelander with ease. Zeelander is no fair weather sailor either, capable of covering long distances with her range over 500 NM, and her specially designed and proven hull allow the Zeelander with use. Unsurprisingly, it has been difficult to keeep Zeelander secret. With no exposure and only word of mouth there is already a waiting list. So popular has the concept proved based around superlative engineering, refined interiors and recreational qualities that Zeelander will double production in 2009. For 2009 models the Zeelanders will boats an additional standard feature, the Gyro Stabilizing System. This system with no underwater appendages - important on a planning hull - is equally efficient at speed as it is at anchor or stationary. Zeelander realizes thaty this is important when boarding guests alongside a quay or superyacht or eating at anchor - how many times has a yacht owner cursed an uncomfortable swell, or had difficulty embarking guests at a dock or spli their wine when a ferry goes by ? Styling is by award winning designer C or D Rover, whose ability to bring the freshest yet most timeless makes him one of the most in-demand, superyacht designers today. Zeelander is beautifully proportioned, her conception is about lifestyle, performance and design; it is easy to imagine her speeding profile even when moored in the harbour; her admirers are inspired to be on the sea. Zeelander's classic lines exude style and the flawless profile changes with every angle and change in the light. Swinging at anchor her smooth curves and signature transom remind one of the graceful, commuter boats with more than a passing nod at the lobster tradition and the gentleman's launch of the golden era of yachting. Zeelander really is a visual treat; from no two angles recognizable, from no two angles the same. She is a smooth flowing vessel, high-lighted with rich wood finishes, golf-sprinkled paint, stainless steel and sensuous leathers. From the bow, with sculpted anchor arrangement and mirror fish stainless housing LED head-lights, following her perfect sheer-line, capped with hand-crafted mahogany, and finally sweeping aft Zeelander has not a single, hard line. Even the windows are curved on Zeelander and the whole form envelops the passengers on the inside while providing no angle to the wind. The boat's blistering performance and speeds in excess of 40 knots is achieved through the hull design of acknowledged Master Naval Architect Franck Mulder and coupled with advanced technology Volvo IPS engines. the hull is the result of an uncompromising brief for not only stiffness at speed but also to afford the Zeelander her extraordinary sea-keeping abilities. The hull, wich uses longitudinal stringers and carbon and Kevlar reinforcements in a core-infused e-glass resin hull, is constructed by hand in a special Zeelander-owned high-tech lamination factory. Zeelander chose Volvo IPS for their common-rail engines and patented IPS drive system. The engines are known for their power, fuel-efficiency (in comparison to conventional drive systems) and cutting edge performance in speed and acceleration as well as for their unrivalled maneuvering abilities. These engines offer the perfect combination of power with outstanding combustion efficiency. New for 2009 is the Stabilizer System never seen on a yacht of this size, but for anyone that has had their anchorage ruined by a large ship's wake or their drinks spilt from the wash of a ski boat this is the "must have" addition for every yacht. Renowned noise cancellint engineer, Sjaak Van Capellen, has been instrumental in controlling every installation of furniture and machinery mounting and has resulted in a yacht of exceptionnaly low sound levels never before achieved on a yacht in this class - in port or at sea. Van Capellen is well known for perfecting the "Art of Silence", which in the designing of Zeelander means no noise, no vibration. Integral fuel tanks and full beam lateral bulkheads ensure the strength and allow the use of sound insulation materials throughout. The boat is fully equipped with silent generator, air-conditioning, ovens, fridges, icemakers, extractor, dishwasher, computers and state of the art entertainment systems. Remember this is a full option boat- everything is included, but if there is a particular request Zeelander is prepared to consider it. Zeelander is a masterpiece, high-lighted with rich mahogany, gold-sprinkled paint, stainless steel, marble and sensuous leathers. The mirror-like finish of the paintwork is the result of thousands of hours of personal attention by Zeelander craftsmen. Each Zeelander hull receives seven individual layers of paint and lacquer, with hand finishing between each layer by 6 craftsmen using long-boards. The process involves a clever blend of the automotive and aeronautic products to resist abrasion and ultra-violet damage. The result is then polished to create a luster that is unmatched in the yachting industry. Through a 'custom' option, Owners and Collectors can choose to entirely customize their Zeelander, without compromising the quality or attention to detail that underwrites this work of art. Although owners so far have an unlimited choice of colours, a special selection of paint colours for the hull, with complementary superstructure has been created for 2009. These will be an option for the first available models ordered from September 2008. Description intérieure The interior of the Zeelander is a masterful use of space with characteristic levels of finish. The cockpit is so ideally positioned and carefully conceived that all the data is simply available to anyone familiar with a computer or a modern supercar. The instruments ar logistically set out yet perfectly suited to the yachting environment in crafted stainless and waterproof monitors. The commanding helmsman's position affords excellent visibility and the choice of helmsman's seats which offer outstanding levels of comfort guarantee that both helmsman and guests are fresh and relaxed after a day's cruise. Throughout the interior the use of lightweight cored construction and the richest materials mark this as a mini superyacht that promises to become the watchword for luxury and refinement in the yachting world. Zeelander's creators have strived endlessly to test and perfect every area of the yacht. When satisfied with the result they re-adressed the quality by ensuring the highest levels of craftsmanship at every level. A multi-skilled team well versed in traditional skills and using the most advanced and cutting edge technology create an interior that is unsurpassed in terms of quality and attention to detail. Once that was achieved, Zeelander Shipyard start custom serial production in the Netherlands and the first Zeelanders will leave the Yard in autumn 2008. Zeelander's designers work with only the finest natural materials; wood veneers and leather, silks, wools, precious metals all of which are specially selected for the harsh marine environment yet without compromising quality. Every teak plank is personally selected and hand-laid on the decks before being vacuum-bedded in the deliberate single-length Zeelander style, emphasing the almost perfect curves and sheer of her hull and superstructure. Interior veneers are selected for the grain and colour and opened ou into large sheets to ensure the grains are continuous throughout the interior (examples of woods available for the Zeelander include pear, cherry, mahogany, walnut burr - through Zeelander will build to customer wishes). Each piece of furniture is individually crafted being fitted into the yacht. It is then removed and veneered, before going to environmental paint shops for the final layers of lacquer showcasting the beauty the wood. Just as with the exterior, the 'custom' option allows Collectors to entirely customize their Zeelander interior finishes to their own tastes. Zeelander work with different interior designers to offer personalized finishes to meet the individual requirements and style of customers, one such designer being the extraordinarily talented Eris Dumesny of Larvor and Feaship fame, here in Cannes.
